It's a new year and I've been up to some new things! In addition to playing around town, private events, and weddings, I've picked up some new venues, have been playing some open mics, and am exploring playing with other local musicians. In 2025, open mics have started to become a great way for me to connect with other musicians, make friends, and gain exposure for new gigs. Through these open mics, I've had a chance to play at some great spots around Phoenix, including Fatsos Pizza, Dubliner Irish Pub & Restaurant, and Horse & Hyde.
Fatsos is the perfect neighborhood spot for family and friends to gather for some delicious pizza and beer. My wife and I frequent here to enjoy a night out, to go watch Glade Wilson, or order take-out for a night in when we have a craving for our favorite pizza! She's all about the Popeye and I love a good old fashioned pepperoni pizza (extra pepperoni of course!).
We enjoy heading to the Dubliner for a night cap and to see live music from Jake Dean. The Dubliner also has a DJ or band playing later at night if you'd like to hit the dance floor! I will be playing here February 19th, come say hi!
Horse & Hyde has a lively western-inspired vibe with rustic wood accents blended with modern decor. The open patio door give it a indoor-outdoor feel, making it a great spot to go for drinks, live music, or a hearty meal.
It's been an exciting start to the year, and I'm looking forward to what's ahead! If you're ever out and about, come say hi, I'd love to see some familiar faces in the crowd.
